Now What?

On Saturday, September 17th nearly 50 people gathered at Christ Episcopal Church for Now What?, a presentation from the St. David’s Institute and the Southeast Deanery. There were 13 priests, three deacons, and 15 churches from around the Diocese of Central Florida represented as we heard the startling numbers of decline the Episcopal Church is facing. Fr. Porter gave a detailed presentation about the unchurched, dechurched, nones, dones, and umms in our post-Christian culture. Then our panelists, Fr. Porter, Mother Tracy Dugger (Nativity, Port St. Lucie), Mother Cynthia Brust (Christ Episcopal Church, Suntree-Viera), and Fr. Frans van Santen (Grace, Ocala) answered questions from our moderator (Rebecca Taylor) and attendees. The response was overwhelmingly positive.
